Biography

Dr. Hyndman received her Ph.D. and M.A. in mathematics from the University of Colorado and her BMath with a Minor in dance from the University of Waterloo. She has lectured at international conferences and published in several areas of universal algebra. Her current areas of research are natural duality theory and quasi-equational theory with two books recently co-authored on subquasivarieties. She also has a strong interest in the area of mathematical education and has coordinated several mathematics and science conferences for high school students. Dr. Hyndman served as Department Chair for over 10 years. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mathematical Society and also was Education Co-editor of the CMS Notes.
