Biography

Dr. Chen's research areas are: pattern recognition, image processing, computational geometry, intelligent language tutoring system, data mining, bioinformatics; and the computational intelligence fields, including fuzzy systems, neural network, and fast approximate practical algorithms for solving some NP hard problems. He is also interested in the voting schemes in political election and scientific research. His achievements can be found via his homepage above.

Dr. Chen is a Senior member of IEEE. He was the founding chair of IEEE Subsection of Northern British Columbia. His biography was included in the 20th & 21st Editions of Who's Who in the World, Marquis.

Dr. Chen received his doctor degree in Computer Science from Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Academia Sinica). Before UNBC, he spent time in China, France and Japan.
