Biography

Dr Caron was born and raised in Kamloops BC. Following her graduation from medical school, she moved to San Francisco to complete her postgraduate fellowship training in Endocrine Surgical Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. However, Dr Caron's love for British Columbia brought her home and since January 2005, she has been working as a General and Endocrine Surgeon at Prince George Regional Hospital as well as a tenure-track faculty member in UBC's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery and teaching in the Northern Medical Program. She has served on numerous committees including the Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Health - Advisory Committee on Provincial Health Goals (members selected by the Minister of Health, Province of British Columbia); British Columbia Medical Association - Committee on Health Promotion; Native Physicians Association of Canada; and is currently Chair of the BC Medical Association's Committee on Aboriginal Health.

Research and Expertise

Nadine's main focus and passion is Aboriginal Health and Canadian health policy.
