Selen and Anita Alpay Leadership Award
In 2024, the UNBC Athletics Department proudly established the Selen and Anita Alpay Leadership Award to honour Selen and Anita Alpay, long-time supporters of and generous donors to the University of Northern British Columbia. This award seeks to recognize an individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership and a deep commitment to community involvement.
Selen and Anita, both dedicated advocates for the Prince George community, aim to acknowledge those who share their passion for helping others and making a positive impact.
Please consider donating to this inspiring award for UNBC students.
Chancellor Iona Campagnolo Scholarship
Iona Campagnolo, first chancellor of the University of Northern British Columbia, was a distinguished Canadian and British Columbian. She was an integral part of this institution’s vision, declaring that “The University of Northern British Columbia will be a welcoming place for all students, not grudgingly, or in spite of their colour, race, gender, or place of origin, but in frank celebration of it.”
True to her commitment and dedication to the north, Chancellor Campagnolo created the endowed Chancellor Iona Campagnolo Scholarship in 1992, which will have a lasting impact on UNBC students. Please consider giving to add your voice and continue this lasting impact.
Magnifying Black Voices
The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse academic environment that reflects its core strategic values: cultural awareness, understanding, safety, humility, and accessibility. The Magnifying Black Voices Bursary is part of a transformative step towards actualizing UNBC’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Firmly rooted in the principles of the Scarborough Charter, this initiative is designed to empower the Black community within UNBC through focused interventions like financial bursaries, mentorship programs, community engagement, and enhanced representation and inclusion in our academic and social fabric.
