Employing historical methodologies informed by the field of Indigenous Studies, this presentation intends to demonstrate how resurgent histories can play and active role in Indigenous resurgence and have the potential to actively promote the revitalization of Indigenous nationhood, self-determination, and sovereignty.

Dr. Allan Downey is Dakelh, Nak’azdli Whut’en, and a Canada Research Chair in Indigenous History, Nationhood, and Self-Determination. He is an  Associate Professor in the Department of History and Indigenous Studies Department at McMaster University.
