Abstract: With a new American President and growing instability across the globe, Canada’s role in NATO has never been under more scrutiny or had such importance. The discussion will focus on the challenges facing Canada and how membership in NATO and our contributions to the Alliance are essential to our values and our interests.

Speaker's Bio: Robert Baines is President and CEO of the NATO Association of Canada which is a charitable NGO focused on communicating the importance of security and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to Canadians. Robert is a commentator on NATO issues in the Canadian media and regularly appears on panels discussing security and defence. He has participated in the side conferences of the Warsaw (2016), Brussels (2018) and London (2019) NATO Summits. In addition to his role with the NATO Association, Robert is also Chair of the Canadian Forces College Foundation.
