Indigenous leadership and justice in globally shifting salmon systems
This talk examines contentions in contemporary conservation of Pacific salmon and applies a transformative justice lens to interrogate the cumulative injustices imposed on Indigenous Salmon Peoples around the world.
Dr. Andrea Reid is a citizen of the Nisg̱a’a Nation, living in the community of Lax̱g̱alts’ap on the British Columbia–Alaska border. Dr. Reid is an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Fisheries Science (Tier 2) in the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries at the University of British Columbia.
