Dr. Davina Banner is a Professor in the School of Nursing and interim Associate Vice President Research Operations at the University of Northern British Columbia and resides on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. Davina leads an interdisciplinary program of research that is focused on cardiovascular and rural health, along with research that advances the science and practice of integrated knowledge translation and patient-oriented research. Through her research, Davina seeks to improve the health of Canadians living with complex health conditions, along with studying methods and practices that support meaningful co-production in research. Dr. Banner has worked with populations that face barriers to engagement in research, actively adopting equity principles and practices. Davina is a white, cis gender, straight, able-bodied woman of settler ancestry. In this presentation, Davina will share key highlight from her career to date as a researcher, educator, and leader, and will share future aspirations and goals.
