Co-directed by Julian Brave NoiseCat, whose father survived these institutions, this film exposes the abuses suffered by Indigenous children at St. Joseph’s Mission in British Columbia. Through moving personal stories and the discovery of unmarked graves, Sugarcane shines a light on the trauma that continues to affect generations. It’s a must-see for anyone who values justice, resilience, and Indigenous history. Don't miss this emotional journey of truth and healing.
