Made-in-Canada Athena Swan Program - A consultation embracing diversity of the research community
UNBC is hosting a visit by NSERC for a consultation regarding the “Made in Canada” Athena Swan initiative. Faculty, staff, students in all disciplines and community members are all encouraged to attend. The Canadian version of the Athena SWAN Charter is intended to address underrepresented groups in academic research in Canada — specifically, Indigenous Peoples, women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, and the LGBTQ2+ community—and all areas of research in all post-secondary institutions. National discussions and input from a wide range of stakeholders are essential to designing a Canadian Athena SWAN model that embraces the diversity of the research community in this country.
Livestream will be available for the first portion of the workshop (9 to9:45) at the following link, however in-person participation is encouraged. www.unbc.ca/livestream1
At the workshop we will be consulting on the Draft Athena SWAN Canadian Charter
To facilitate discussion please review the following Guiding Questions
