The integration of Indigenous perspectives into academia is new to many disciplines but it has a long history in Archaeology. Indigenous Archaeology gained strength in the mid-1990s and is now central to how the ancient past is investigated and interpreted. This places archaeologists in a realm where they need to publish peer reviewed journal articles and books, while having to give back to the communities in which they do their research. Seldom do journal articles and books have practical impacts on First Nations communities. Dr. Rudy Reimer will discuss how this can be addressed through alternative media via his experience as the lead expert archaeologist in the Aboriginal People's Television Network (APTN) Series, Wild Archaeology.

The Natural Resources & Environmental Studies Institute (NRESi) at UNBC hosts a weekly lecture series at the Prince George campus.
