Ancient Western Red Cedar stands in the upper Fraser River watershed east of Prince George represent a rare regional ecosystem, one which supports temperate rainforest conservation values that in other jurisdictions, often have World Heritage site designation. A proposal for the creation of a B.C. Provincial Park in the Ancient Forest trail area will be discussed along with possible steps for the nomination of a World Heritage site for these inland rainforest stands. Please join us after the presentation for the opening of a photo gallery on the Ancient Forest Trail Park Proposal area in the Rotunda Gallery at UNBC.
