Mass Timber - CAD 1
The use of mass timber is growing in BC, bringing jobs in construction, design, and fabrication.
CAD 1 introduces industry-specific CAD software used in the mass-timber industry (Cadwork®). Students learn to 3D model simple mass-timber structures and different element types such as engineered and traditional connections, and to generate documentation such as 2D drawings, sections, and bills of materials. Modeling organization and workflow will be covered, with attention paid to the separate nature of 2D drawing generation within Cadwork®.
Participants are expected to be familiar with basic principles of geometry and drafting.
This course is being delivered in person at the UNBC Prince George campus. It can be taken on its own or as a component of the Mass Timber Development Micro-credential.
