Introduction to Wearable Media

Description

This studio course introduces students to the creative and artistic potential of soft circuits and wearable media. Using construction techniques such as weaving, knitting and sewing, and technologies such as switches, sensors and conductive materials, students will create interactive garments and accessories that may be used for performance, display or for everyday use.

Students will be introduced to basic electronics and sewing techniques. Studio work will be supported by demonstrations, slide presentations, video screenings, and critique.

This course is offered in partnership with OCAD University to offer a wide range of courses for enhancing your career expertise in web, design, photography, analytics, and technology.

As a student, you will receive an OCAD U user account, which will grant you access to the OCAD U learning management system, called Canvas. Your Canvas account will be enabled one week prior to the start date of your course. Login at canvas.ocadu.ca.
