Digital Toolkit for Illustrators
This studio course introduces students to best practices for creating digital illustration. Students explore advanced tools in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator such as layers, layer styles, adjustments, blending modes, filters, masks, channels, paths, transformations, brushes, pen tool, selections, animation timelines, smart objects, scanning artwork, exporting for print and web, and many other functions.
Through lectures and class discussions, this course examines the wide range of contemporary illustration such as animated gifs, posters, video games, packaging, editorial illustration, and comics. Students are recommended to have access to a tablet.
This course is offered in partnership with OCAD University to offer a wide range of courses for enhancing your career expertise in web, design, photography, analytics, and technology.
Working with your OCAD U Account
As a student, you will receive an OCAD U user account, which will grant you access to the OCAD U learning management system, called Canvas. Your Canvas account will be enabled one week prior to the start date of your course. Login at canvas.ocadu.ca.

Regular access to a computer with a high-speed broadband internet connection is required.
Course Prerequisites
Intro to Adobe Illustrator, Intro to Adobe Photoshop, Illustration Essentials, or equivalent experience.
