Children's Book Illustration Studio
This studio course explores the creative process of illustrating picture books for children. Students should learn key conceptual and technical skills to create effective and original illustrations. Topics include storyboarding, character design, composition, and colour theory.
Classwork may be executed in an array of media including gouache, acrylic paint, pen and ink, watercolor, and collage. Students will also learn to digitize their illustrations using Adobe Photoshop.
This course is offered in partnership with OCAD University to offer a wide range of courses for enhancing your career expertise in web, design, photography, analytics, and technology.
Working with your OCAD U account
As a student, you will receive an OCAD U user account, which will grant you access to the OCAD U learning management system, called Canvas. Your Canvas account will be enabled one week prior to the start date of your course.

Learning Outcomes

Course Requirements
Students are responsible for purchasing their own supplies. Regular access to a computer with a webcam and microphone, high speed broadband internet connection, and a digital camera or smartphone is required.
