Avenza Maps (IOS) Introduction
Learn the features in Avenza Maps for the three tiers (Free, Plus and Pro).
Avenza Maps is an offline Mapping Application, that uses the GPS within your mobile phone or tablet. The Application is a very useful tool for the Outdoor Enthusiast for hiking, biking, climbing, camping and anywhere you need a map for your outdoor adventures.
Avenza Maps is also a very useful Application for many Natural Resource Industries for mapping and collecting data in the field.
Duration: One day
This one-day introductory workshop will provide you with the knowledge to support your needs and includes an opportunity to get outside and use the Application in a class activity.
Note: Instruction is based on Avenza Maps IOS for Apple devices. Avenza will display differently on android devices.

About the Instructor
This course is facilitated by Steve Rooke. Steve is a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) in British Columbia with 30 years’ experience in natural resource management and 15 years specifically in engineering. Steve is also an Avenza Beta Tester.

Course Requirements
Students must have a computer with webcam in order to attend and participate in class discussions and exercises. Prior to the course start, students must download Avenza Maps (IOS) onto their phone or tablet. Students will need the Pro-version for this course, which can be downloaded for a 30-day free trial.
Course Prerequisites
Some prior use of Avenza maps is recommended.
