The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) invites applications for a sessional instructor position in the School of Nursing for the January 2025 semester. This posting covers MScN and MScN-FNP courses in need of instruction from the Prince George Main Campus. All courses in this program are delivered via online modality.
Candidates with a minimum MScN, PhD preferred, are encouraged to apply. Current registration as a Practising NP with the BCCNM is required for all clinical positions, and as an RN or NP is preferred for all other positions.
NURS 605 – Pharmacological Management and Therapeutic Interventions – 1.5 SCH Contract Theory Co – Instructor – 2 positions available; we are seeking one instructor with a pharmacy background and one instructor with an NP background for this course
This course provides students with the most current advanced knowledge of pharmacology, including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Students learn about evidence-based practice, including BCCNM limits and regulations, in the selection, prescription, and monitoring of drugs that are commonly used to treat diseases, disorders, conditions, and injuries. This course involves in-depth study of the mechanisms of drug interactions, therapeutic and adverse effects, and client education. Emphasis is on clinical decision-making, applied in case studies that span a variety of age groups and conditions.
