The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) invites applications for a sessional instructor position in the School of Nursing for the September 2024 semester. This posting covers undergraduate courses in need of instruction from the Quesnel Campus.

Candidates with a minimum BScN, MScN, or PhD preferred are encouraged to apply. Current registration as a Practicing RN with the BCCNM is required for all clinical positions and preferred for all other positions.

NURS 317 – Theory & Practice: Maternity Clinical Instructor – up to two positions

This course takes a women-and family-centred, strengths-based approach to caring for individuals and families of diverse and multicultural backgrounds in the childbearing experience. Emphasis is placed on the integration and application of evidence-based theory, standards for nursing practice, effective communication, critical thinking and use of the nursing process to optimally prepare nurses as caregivers and collaborators with childbearing women, neonates, families, and the health care team.

NURS 328 – Nursing Laboratory Laboratory Facilitator – one position

This course provides instruction and practice in the psychomotor and critical thinking skills necessary to provide safe and effective nursing care in the clinical environment. Through case-based scenarios, simulation, short assignments, quizzes, videos and hands-on practice, students engage with and apply new knowledge and skills that build on learning from Years 1 and 2 of the curriculum.
