TheCanadian Union of Public Employees has indicated that its members in northern BCwill be participating in a show of support tomorrow for the BC Teachers’Federation. Members of CUPE Local 3799 at UNBC are planning to participate in awalk-out on Tuesday, October 18.  We have been advised that neither picketingnor leaflet distribution will take place.

It is the University’s intention that it will bebusiness as usual at UNBC and classes will be offered as scheduled. Studentsshould plan to come to class. Any assignments will be due as initially outlinedby the faculty.

TheUniversity ofNorthern British Columbiais not involved in the negotiations between schoolteachers and the ProvincialGovernment. The CUPE action is not in relation to a dispute withUNBC.
