UNBC Is Taking Measures to Assist Students Affected by Hurricane Katrina
September 7, 2005 for immediate release
The University of Northern British Columbia is expediting the acceptance and enrolment of any student directly affected by the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
On a provisional basis, and recognizing the lack of availability of normal records such as transcripts, the University will admit any student from the affected areas who makes application to our institution. We will simply ask applicants to provide a statement attesting to their belief that they meet the admissions requirements as outlined in our Calendar.
The University will assist students to find housing, whether in our on-campus residences or off-campus.
Finally, UNBC will also waive its normal international fees; students will be charged the same fees as domestic students for the duration of their continuous enrolment at UNBC.
