UNBC Welcomes Art Exhibit

The University of Northern British Columbia will be hosting an opening reception on March 21st for a new art exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the arrival on Canadian soil of Jewish children orphaned by the Holocaust. The opening reception is being held on the International Day for the Elimination of Racism.

The Open Hearts - Closed Doors exhibit chronicles the lives of Holocaust orphans as they made their way to communities across Canada. The exhibit consists of panels that include images and text, mounted artifacts, and panels specific to individual war orphans.

The exhibit is located on the third floor of the Library building and will be on display until mid-May. The public is welcome to visit the exhibit seven days a week during normal Library hours.

The opening reception is Tuesday, March 21st, at 4pm in the Library Media are welcome
