The Peace River-Liard region of BC is host to a resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry and agriculture, also the vitality of our residents who are keen to live and work in community that gives back so much. The City of Fort St. John is home to UNBC’s regional campus headquarters and to the largest regional service centre in the northeastern region. The region attracts travellers with wilderness and eco-adventures, hunting and fishing, as well as excellent year-round sports facilities. Students can take courses in Fort St. John, a number of northeastern communities as well as in Grande Prairie, Alberta and Whitehorse, Yukon.
Student accommodation is available in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek. Undergraduate programs are available at the Fort St. John campus in the areas of Nursing, Social Work, Business, Education and in partnership with Northern Lights College undergraduate courses sufficient for a BA General.

Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NBNP)
This program, which runs over 5 consecutive semesters, is designed for individuals with previous experience and achievement in university-level, post-secondary education who are interested in careers as Registered Nurses (RNs). Graduates receive their BScN and are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and to apply for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) after graduation.
The NBNP provides students with the skills and knowledge to enter the registered nursing field. Students are introduced to the unique aspects of delivering health care in small urban and rural communities located throughout northern BC and beyond. Students in the FSJ NBNP attend classes in Fort St. John in person or online. Clinical placements occur in Fort St. John and the Peace Region, including but not limited to Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, and Fort Nelson.
Students interested in applying to the NBNP in Fort St. John are encouraged to complete their Associate Degree of Arts in Health Studies at Northern Lights College to complete program entry requirements.
UNBC Bachelor of Social Work (Available in Fort St. John)
The Bachelor of Social Work Degree (BSW) is a two-year professional degree designed to prepare students for beginning level, generalist social work practice with individuals, families, groups and communities. The focus of the BSW is oriented toward social work in northern and remote areas, Indigenous peoples, women, anti-oppressive practice, and community practice and research.
Student interested in applying to the BSW program are encouraged to complete their Social Services Worker Diploma at Northern Lights College.
